There were more surprises in store for Dean, however, and they came in the form of a crumpled note on the table of their shared motel room.

“He’s gone,” Mirelle said, for the second time. “What. The. Hell.”

Dean was still reeling from the events of the hospital, unable to properly process what was happening – but he could see that the motel room was empty of precisely one third of what had filled it before. Ramesh was gone. Why?

“Dean, Marcy & Sarah ~

By the time that you read this, I will be out of here. I’m sorry if this is a surprise – but it’s not what it looks like! I have to keep moving, because the Odge Controllers are constantly searching for me – both in the game and in real life. By staying on the move, I will be able to buy the rest of you time to do what you have to do – and, more importantly I will be keeping the rest of you safe.

But I will be back! Either way, I will see you in the game as soon as I can figure out a way to re-hack these limitations that they have laid on my character. I don’t know how long that will take. Until I see you then, I will leave you with some advice: move around a lot, if you can. Don’t do anything too showy that will get the police (and then Odge) onto your back. Keep up the good work with finding the rest of the crystals! We can’t be far now!
